Values Learned Early
The Y works in partnership with elementary schools giving our preschools the advantage of a safe, comfortable space to conduct a quality program in designated classrooms and multi-use spaces. It also allows our staff to become involved in the school, meet and work with the teachers and counselors and communicate directly with the parents.
At the Y, we believe the values and skills learned early are vital building blocks for quality of life and future success. That’s why our preschool staff understand the cognitive, physical and social development of children, they understand the need for children have to feel connected and supported in trying new things, and they create a caring environment for families to feel supported.

Fitness and Fun focuses on increasing physical activity using SPARK, the most researched and field tested PE program in the world, and educating kids on the importance of good nutrition with the Food & Fun Curriculum.
School Partnership. Our preschoolers benefit from our close relationship with the school district and elementary schools where we offer preschool. Our curriculum is coordinated with the school to specifically prepare the children for entering Kindergarten. We participate in school assemblies, family activities, picture day, yearbooks and library time. Being on a school campus helps children transition into Kindergarten smoothly because they are familar with school rules and the overall environment.
Trained Staff. Our preschool staff is carefully selected and gets hours of training on childhood development, classroom management, innovative curriculum activities, the 40 Developmental Assets and how to live the Y values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility.
Safe Places, Caring Adults and Productive Activities. We’re committed to provide a safe, family environment defined by the Search Institute’s Asset Development Framework. The Search Institute is the nation’s leader in child development research.
